and ive probably left out some............
Thoughts on first competition: first competition, i was up against very big girls and decided to change down class to figure; which was the best decision for me at that time
Thoughts on last three competitions... i was advised by a nabba judge, to go back to physique class,as he felt i was getting too muscular which i did. i feel there is nowhere for me to go now as most competitions here in Britain do not cater for physique and there is no class in Scotland for physique, and at the ripe old age of 40 i don't have time on my hands to get enough size on my frame to be able to compete with the younger ladies.
Hopes for next competition... i have to consider if there will be further competitions for me. i will train hard for another year and see what improvements, if any, i have made. If I have put enough tissue on then i will have a go again at physique class.
Thoughts on the sport and it's future direction... all the federations have to help each other and pull in the same direction. Stop the politics in the sport. It's killing the fun for the athletes. The federations exist because the athletes want them not the other way around. Competing is hard enough for us without the bickering that goes on between officials and feds etc.
Best body part / feature / ability? I think my best body part is my back.
Worst bodypart / feature / ability ? Worst bodypart is my calves and biceps
Training / diet tips... Don't do pull downs behind the neck or any type of pressing behind the neck, its bad form, but is still done in every gym. Drink plenty of fluids all year round not just during diets.
Thank-yous... Thanks to Gavin Laird for encouraging me to train smarter and thank you to my other half Gary for putting up with me during my dieting and driving me all over the country to all my shows.
